Our Senators' Spending Spree

Amazing. Simply amazing.

Tom Coburn, M.D. (R-OK) proposed a bill in the Senate today that attempted to block funding on two of the energy bill's pork projects in Alaska, the Bridge to Nowhere and Don Young Way, and divert it to the reconstruction work to repair the Twin Spans Bridge over Lake Pontachartrain which was damaged by Hurricane Katrina. It was defeated 15-82.

That is simply not acceptable as a citizen of this country. Those senators that voted against this amendment need to be held accountable for their failure to properly reign in silly and useless spending in this time of Katrina reconstruction debt.

Fiscally irresponsible, that's our Senate.

How this kind of bullshit gets the O.K. in the first place is WAY beyond me. Then to find that 82 out of 97 still think it should go on in light of this new money drain (hurricane repair)is unbelievable!! Jeez, I'm so pissed that I forgot to order!! Guinness, please...... It's obvious that these people are from a completely different economic class than I'm in.
