Live Art, Gotta Love It! Mear One Still At It

Sorry I missed my "daily" reporting of Mear One's piece last night. I was kind of seriously drunk last night (laughing). Hey, I had the grandkid for a week, with no life, so sue me!

Anyway, here's some stuff from yesterday.



The cut-away is me giving shit to some people that parked in my apartment building parking spot ... to see Mear One, but they lied to me telling me they were parking to visit someone in the building, and I was like, yeah, who? Ha ha.

I'm new to Mear One's work. I am not new to grafitti in Los Angeles. I just didn't connect the dots here.

What I find fascinating about Mear's work, is not the art in and of itself, but the speed in which he produces his art. Even though a lot of his stuff is on canvas, he still paints as if he has to do under the cover of night, like the grafitti artist.

On my train trip to Seattle from L.A., I was amazed at some of the grafitti painted in lumber yards, train yards, storage areas, etc. that were real pieces of art.

They left a tad early last night, around 10:30 p.m. I am not sure how long they will be staying tonight.

Live Blogging, Day Three, Mear One, 6th & La Brea

I am out again, this evening, watching "live art" develop.

Alphonse Mucha/Mear One

Only in Hollywood. Pouring my usual Rum and Coke, I saw this actually happening and went out with my cheap ass video camera. Mear One, an artist, is painting this mural on a commercial building wall (that houses an art gallery) of Alphonse Mucha. I took these shots, and I have Mear's permission to post this video and pictures.

Come on, imagine going into your kitchen, and this is the view outside of your window! I love my life!
