Can You Feel The "Heat?"

You know, I'm from Los Angeles, so, of course I'd be a Laker fan, duh! But, the caveat is that I was a fan until Kobe became a Laker. Fortunately, I had Clipper Season Tickets ... so it was not difficult to just be a fracking Clipper fan!

But, I'm kind of a closet Miami fan (think Shaq), and so ....

FUCKING "A" MIAMI!!!!! You decimated Oklahoma. No wonder I left my local bar so early, ha ha.

Been Busy, Hockey, Basketball, Baseball, Walking The Dog ...

Kings up one in their first semi's since 1993 and only second time in HISTORY of franchise ... what's up with that? Rangers shot down the Devils in game one. Dodgers at least in better shape than fucking Orange County Angels of ORANGE COUNTY.

Walking the damn
dog ... (metaphorically)

Ok, so let's SUPPOSE there is real love ...

Clippers, Lakers AND Kings ... the support staff better be ready for those changes of surfaces (of course, are they UNION ... )

Lakers' Win, But Does Slovenia Connection Bode For Bittersweet Possibilities For USA Soccer Match Tomorrow?

A player from Slovenia keeps the Lakers alive enough to win the championship.

This does NOT bode well for USA's game against Slovenia tomorrow!

Basketball Finals

Noah Graham/NBA/Getty Images

I guess since I AM the sports pig, I should congratulate the Lakers for making it to the finals.

I actually don't like the Lakers, I'm a Clippers fan (stop laughing). I used to love the Lakers when Magic, et al. were the team. 1970's, 1980's, they were my team. But with Kobe and the new kids ... I'm not such a fan anymore.

But, at least we have the continuation of historical match-ups for the finals, L.A. and Boston.

Rooting For "Los Suns" In Game Two

In an extremely bold move, the Phoenix Suns as an organization made a strong political statement in opposition to the recent Arizona immigration bill.

Discussions on taking action began last week after the bill passed, with an idea that came from Robert Sarver, Managing Partner of the Phoenix Suns.

According to Steve Kerr, the team discussed it internally before going to the league for approval to both wear the 'Los Suns' jerseys, but also to come out publicly in this way.

Kerr said both the NBA and the San Antonio Spurs were fully supportive of the Suns move.

I'm not that big on basketball, but I keep up with the sport. I've got to give kudos where they are deserved, and it's now given me a reason to check out the next game in the playoffs.

H/T to Crooks and Liars.

October Is Major League Sports Month

October is an interesting month in sports in that all four majors are in play, football, basketball, hockey and baseball. It's the only month out of the year that happens.

It's past midnight in New York, raining as hell, and the Yanks/Angels game is tied, bottom of the 11th. It could go either way, and I don't really care. Everyone knows I hate the Angels for usurping my beloved city's name, but I would relish a freeway series for the bragging rights.

October, The Sports Month

As I've said before, if you're a sports fanatic like me, you have to love October!

Clippers have better record than Lakers (it's only preseason); Chargers kicked NE's ass, Dodgers took it to the Phillies, and Kings are tied with Ducks for last place in their division!

October is the only month that all four major sports are in play. I had to watch the Charger game on TV with the sound muted, and listen to the Dodger game on the AM radio. Since hockey and basketball were in the beginning stages, I chose the Dodgers over either Lakers or Kings games on radio, and anyone who actually reads my blog knows I'm a Charger fan, and since they only play 16 games for a season, it was a no brainer that I was watching the Chargers on TV.
