Ah, Thank Goodness For TV Restoration -- Pygmalion

I just finished watching the film Pygmalion staring Leslie Howard and Wendy Hiller, which probably most of my readers could never say they know what that movie was about.

It was transformed on broadway to My Fair Lady starring Julie Andrews in the role of Eliza. The film however, did not garner Andrews the Eliza role, as it went to Audrey Hepburn, who's singing voice was dubbed. I loved Hepburn, but come on, if we are going to do a film of the broadway musical, why couldn't the producers realize that Julie Andrews with her gazillion octive range, was truly Eliza!

Here is Hepburn:

Pygmalion, not being a musical, but a serious drama, was, and still is, awesome to watch.

So Julie became Mary Poppins & won an Oscar.
