I see the White House is changing terms again. This time, they are moving from "The War On Terror" to "a global struggle against violent extremism."
In addition, the wheels have now been set in motion to go after Special Prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald in the latest attempt to spin the Rovegate scandal. The plan appears to be two-fold. Through the use of the congressional hearings called for by Sen. Pat Roberts, the "leakers" would get immunity for their (cough, cough) "testimony" before congress. Try to remember Iran-Contra for a parallel universe example. The second part of the plan is to attack Fitzgerald and undermine his credibility with respect to the investigation into the Plame leak.
Then we have the passing of CAFTA, which had originally been defeated during the alloted voting session. But, thanks to the repukes that control things, they kept the voting open, and open, and open, until they could finally drag in enough of their cohorts to get the damn bill passed. Keep your eyes on the 15 democrats that voted yea. Especially keep watch over the dreaded nine that always vote with the enemy.
Speaking about the enemy, isn't it just grand to be in charge? Gotta love DeLay and his method of control over bills. Tacking on a $1.5 billion give away to his greedy oil buddies after closing discussion on the bill, thereby allowing no discussions on the provision. The other party hasn't really raised much of a stink about it, though. I am getting tired of asking where is the outrage. Every day, the corruption and pandering continues, and gets more blatant by the minute. I cannot understand how all of this has escaped, and seems to continue to escape, the American public.
And through it all, we have a president who gives the finger to reporters.
Ain't America Grand?

Foe some reason, Da Prez refuses to say "Radical Right Wing Islamic Fundamentalists" or any variation thereof, perhaps because it's uncomfortably close to describing his own supporters.
