And you really expect me to look up to this guy, admire him for his principles and believe he is doing what is best for this country?
Fuck me! Blow me. Not a prayer's chance in hell I will ever say anything nice about this president. In my opinion, he's worse than Bush II. Mind you, I don't believe the teabaggers' assertions, but I do not look up to or believe in spineless leaders, and as far as I can tell, Drama Obama is the most spineless President we have had in my entire memory of presidents. Hell, even Nixon had more balls than this piece of shit.
I'm done. Peace (well, not in Obama's world) OUT!
The Golden Temple, a sprawling and serene complex of gleaming gold and polished marble that is the spiritual center of the Sikh religion, is one of India’s most popular tourist attractions. Revered by Indians of all faiths, it is a cherished emblem of India’s religious diversity.

But the United States has ruled out a Golden Temple visit, according to an American official involved in planning.
[snip]
But the plan appears to have foundered on the thorny question of how Mr. Obama would cover his head, as Sikh tradition requires, while visiting the temple.“To come to golden temple he needs to cover his head,” said Dalmegh Singh, secretary of the committee that runs the temple. “That is our tradition.”
Mr. Obama, a Christian, has struggled to fend off persistent rumors that he is a Muslim, and Sikhs in the United States have often been mistaken for Muslims. Sikhism, which arose in the Punjab region in the 15th century, includes elements of Hinduism and Islam but forms a wholly distinct faith.
Good line from John Aravosis: "At some point, Obama needs to skip the intellectualizing, and be willing to punch someone in the face (other than a DFH)."

I agree with you on this Carrie, but from the oppsite view point, as usual. You see, his not visiting this temple will not convince he's not a closet Muslim, because I am totally convinced he is. In fact, his continued betrayal of the LGBT community just reinforced my opinion to me. I also believe this moves proves more that he could be Muslim, then if he did visit. See, if he were secure in his christianity, he would not have a problem experiencing another place of worship. Mind you, I don't find being a Muslim the problem, I find having the need to lie about the problem. As for his being in Hawai'i, I'm not convinced he was, nor am I convinced he wasn't. Although I am not now or ever was an Obama supporter I would love to see him at least stand up for something, even though I would disagree with it, but at least be a LEADER. That is what is expected from POTUS.
Um, I'm pretty darn sure Muslims are forbidden to hide, diguise, or obfuscate their faith in any way.
What Obama is, is a closet neocon, and that closet door has swung wide open during his presidency. Hence his cowardly decision on this matter (and his slap in the face of the LGBT community, and on, and on.)
Actually Arno, it is acceptable ti hide one's Muslim faith if it is for teh good and advancement of Islam, and so long as you do not turn your back on the teachings of Islam. Which would explain Obama's refusal to support the advancement of gay rights, even though he proclaimed he would during the campaign. In the Muslim faith homosexuality is one of the greatest sins. My neighbor, who is a black woman, and Muslim, also believes Obama is a closet Muslim. She also never supported him. She is more conservative then I. In fact, this morning she gave me a copy of the Obama Diaries, so I can read it on the plane going to Arizona next week.
The devoutly Christian president is uncommon in American history. Since the beginning of the 20th Century we've had only three, maybe four: Herbert Hoover, a flawed idealist who had internalized many Quaker precepts to the extent that he was probably unqualified to be president; Jimmy Carter; & George W. Bush. Might add George HW Bush.
Good to see Tony out there representing that 25% of Americans who believe Obama is a "closet" Muslim AND was not an American citizen! But my point was again overlooked by you. Regardless of what he believes in, to not visit the holy temple of the country you are visiting is a slap in the face. But he's become such a coward, and afraid to have bad press by the (rut roh) "liberal" laughing my ass off media this close to an election. What a slime ball.
The man has grown up and been documented as a Christian. To believe otherwise is moronic.
I did not overlook your point, I agree with it. Any President should visit the Golden Temple on this trip. I said if he were secure in his christianity he would not have a problem doing so. The POTUS needs to exude strength, and this guy does not. I also never said he's not American. I did say I believe he is a Muslim, and I certainly do, and I make no apologies for believing that, but I never said I don't think he's American. I'm not convinced either way on his birth place, but either way he's American. You need to get past your intolerance and read the words wriiten.
As for his being in Hawai'i, I'm not convinced he was, nor am I convinced he wasn't.
If it sounds like a birther, and walks like a birther, it's a birther in my book.
Interesting that you would call me intolerant. Your particular path down the teabagger road, which is a group that totally espouses intolerance and does not shy away from preaching violence based on intolerance and ignorance (from a Christian place of belief, no less), is something that I've witnessed up close and personal from you. It is precisely why I don't have anything to do with you anymore, other than deal with your incessant obsession with me and my blog.
I believe in a free America, which your tea party does not. Hence, you can read and post all you want. But rest assured, I personally, don't want your comments, your obsession, your friendship, or anything else.
This should not be confused with me being "intolerant." Nor should it be interpreted as the view of any of my readers, either. I simply don't like you anymore, which apparently, you have not gotten over at all these past five years. One would think with all the clues and obvious statements I have made to you, you'd get the idea and move on. Alas, I am inflicted with the "tony curse" and have to endure knowing you have nothing better to do than to check my blog out every damn day, trying to worm your way into my life in some fashion.
Start your own blog. Put your own beliefs out there. Take a stand and say something on your own with all the time you apparently have. While my readers don't particularly share your viewpoints, no one on my blog is a flamer, so no one will be unkind to you in print. But no one takes your viewpoints seriously.
