Boehner's Boner Plan To Pay For The Wars!

Ensuring there's enough money to pay for the war will require reforming the country's entitlement system, Boehner said. He said he'd favor increasing the Social Security retirement age to 70 for people who have at least 20 years until retirement, tying cost-of-living increases to the consumer price index rather than wage inflation and limiting payments to those who need them.

"We need to look at the American people and explain to them that we're broke," Boehner said. "If you have substantial non-Social Security income while you're retired, why are we paying you at a time when we're broke? We just need to be honest with people."

My head is spinning. You have to read the whole piece and watch the videos.

The Republicans really, really, can't help themselves. They gave us two fucking wars that are bankrupting this country, gave themselves (and the rest of the rich people) tax cuts, among other things, and now they want to ensure that these unnecessary wars are paid for by cutting SOCIAL FUCKING SECURITY??????? Like that's going to go over well in middle America.

Stop playing toy soldiers and end the two wars. Remember, the one in Iraq was supposed to be over in a few weeks and pay for itself? Seven years later and here we still are ... life in Iraq sucks more than it did under their previous ruler, and life in America sucks equally as much now as it did under our previous ruler. But telling our seniors that THEY HAVE TO SUCK IT UP is pretty audacious, even for a Republican! My reply? You fucking give up your fucking salaries, dickheads, if you want to have YOUR stupid wars paid for. Stop "dumpster diving" into the only fall-back plan many seniors still have going for themselves.
