Let's Stroll, Diamond Style
The Stroll. Damn, I am old (ha ha).
Did this dance, but not at that time ... I was one of those youngsters that watched the older kids dance ...
I love this. The show is from Idaho. There's only two couples can do the dance. I used to watch this at summer night playground dances in my town, with the lights strung overhead, all ages, & nobody got in that stroll line unless they had a little dance step worked out. Some of the high school couples had complete routines like later in Soul Train dance lines.
Same here. Way before the Soul Train dance lines, The Stroll was THE song to line dance. And you HAD to know how to do the basic step, but the dancer in me, of course, with my partner, would be more like couple #3, with turns and other moves. To this day, I love the song! I wonder how many of us in our age bracket would still remember how to do the dance?
Unfortunately, I was not around to participate in this, but I did see something similar in the movie Grease. :) And that's my one and only smartass comment for the day...If you can believe that. (Don't believe a bit of it)! Lol!
Never did the stroll? Ah ... well, if you go to any high school reunions in the near future, you can now request this song and know how to do the stroll!
