2,700 Year Old Pot Stash Found!

OTTAWA – Researchers say they have located the world's oldest stash of marijuana, in a tomb in a remote part of China.

The cache of cannabis is about 2,700 years old and was clearly "cultivated for psychoactive purposes," rather than as fibre for clothing or as food, says a research paper in the Journal of Experimental Botany.

(inhale) So, it's not just the damn teenagers from the 1960's that (exhale) cultivated pot for recreational use! 2,700 year old pot. Man ...

One, since I am not a believer in past lives, that is not my stash (in China). Second, nothing was mentioned in the article or subsequent articles as to whether there was still sufficient THC in the weed to actually make it worth smoking. 2,700 year old pot is a significant find mainly for the proposition that mankind has always looked for a way to self-medicate and get high.

On a personal note, though, I did not start taking any drugs until I was about 25 years old, despite being a baby boomer. Well, there was that period of time when I was 15 (1965) that I definitely experimented with a few things, drugs, alcohol, ciggies, etc., but aside from ciggies, I wasn't into the drugs or alcohol. And as for drinking, I didn't get too much into alcohol until I was around 35.

Correction, 15 in 1967, not 1965 (laughs).
