Once Again, Republicans Mail Out Fliers Misinforming Democrats About When To Vote In Virginia

An interesting tactic -- faking a government document and mailing it out to Democrats in a certan area of Virginia, telling them that the Republicans and Independents will vote on November 4, 2008, but that the Democrats will vote on November 5, 2008, based on an an emergency session of the General Assembly. Unbelievable.

1. government by the people; a form of government in which thesupreme power is vested in the people and exercised directly by them or by their elected agents under a free electoral system.
2.a state having such a form of government: The United States and Canada are democracies.
3.a state of society characterized by formal equality of rights and privileges.
4.political or social equality; democratic spirit.
5.the common people of a community as distinguished from any privileged class; the common people with respect to their political power.
Why is it always the Republican party that does not want everyone to vote?
H/T to Crooks & Liars.

Is it late enough for a Guinness???

This is a tactic of scumbags. If you can't stir up enough misconceptions, hate and bigotry via the usual lies and deception, prevent the actual vote however you can. Noble. Scum.

I gotta go, Carlo

|_|o Here's your pint, Carlo.

I'm watching a ton of commercials here in L.A. over Prop 8 (the anti-gay marriage proposition) and I'm finding it funny that the talking point is about "teaching gay marriage" to second graders. I cannot for the life of me remember EVER having a class in public school that discussed "marriage." History? Math? Social Studies? Health? (maybe, but we didn't have health until we were in junior high, and even then, it was mostly about stuff that made the boys and girls gigle a lot). Under what subject does the Los Angeles Unified School District teach second graders about marriage? NONE is the correct answer, but that doesn't stop the Mormons from pouring in millions into this campaign to undo what the California Supreme Court has already ruled upon -- no discrimination re marriage.

Hate, bigotry and lies, as usual, as you say.

Let me know when you need that pint topped off!

(On a side note, the word verification for this post is "bless." Could that be an omen?)
