How much lower can you go than a congressman suspending a voting session so that he can go jerk off to cybersex with a twinkie

I remember a time when politicians that belonged to a party were a reflection of their constituency. The party was the umbrella that covered an array of types within the party, just as the constituency was diverse.

Nowadays, the party is not a representation of the people within it, or the constituency. The party has become an entity unto itself, and the people and the constituency are only represented if they are in complete agreement with it.

It frustrates me to see this "all or nothing" attitude with our system of government these days. All the effort is used to keep the party line. Very little effort is expended in actually doing the job the elected are elected to perform. It's like standing in line to get into a filled to capacity nightclub waiting for that next person to exit so you can enter.

The Foley spin by the Republican party is just unbelievable. Fox News and a number of newspapers had the information last year but chose not to put it out there ... not that it was a non-story, mind you, but because it reflected badly on their party of choice, and the party line is to not hurt the party appearance.

Although this is the way this party has been functioning for years, with the American public snoozing away, it does appear to be getting harder and harder for the Republicans to simply spin away their misdeeds.

How much lower can you go than a congressman suspending a voting session so that he can go jerk off to cybersex with a twinkie.

This is our Republican government in action.
